PTHS 209 Scholar of Excellence:  PMSA Student a Semifinalist in the 45th Annual Achievement Scholarship Competition

Christian Snow, of Maywood, is a senior at Proviso Math and Science Academy. She was recently named a semifinalist in the 45th Annual Achievement Scholarship competition sponsored by the National Achievement Scholarship Program.

More than 150,000 high school juniors from around the United States requested consideration in the 2009 National Achievement Program when they took the 2007 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT®). Semifinalists were designated within geographic regions and are the highest-scoring program entrants in the states that make up each region.

Snow is one of 1,600 high school seniors to make this designation. Now, she has an opportunity to continue in the competition for scholarships worth over $2.6 million.
Snow says she hopes to win the scholarship and go on to attend the University of Pennsylvania where she’ll major in International Relations and Law. Her dream is to work for Amnesty International or the United Nations.

“PMSA faculty, staff, and administration are extremely proud of Christian for receiving this nomination," said PMSA Assistant Principal Clotilde Frankiewicz. “Our students constantly meet our highest expectations and we know they will continue to excel in the future.”

Good Luck Christian and congratulations! You are a PTHS 209 Scholar of Excellence!
