Proviso Mathematics and Science Academy is welcoming and celebrating its newest class—the class of 2014.
Nearly 600 students completed PMSA’s admissions assessment process. In March, PMSA officials sent 278 acceptance letters to welcome new students into the Academy from across the Proviso community. PMSA Principal Ed Moyer says he is excited to welcome new students to the Academy, an institution that is constantly growing and striving for excellence.
“We are very excited to welcome new students and parents to PMSA,” said Moyer. “Something extraordinary happens here at PMSA. Our teachers show immense dedication and unwavering teamwork. Our students are challenged to reach their highest potential in math, science, and beyond. The culture of the Academy fosters true leadership and discovery. We are excited each year when we have an opportunity to welcome the next generation of PMSA scholars.”
All newly accepted students are invited to attend PMSA’s WINDOW (Wonder, Inquiry, kNowledge: unDerstanding Our World) Program on August 5th, 6th, 9th, and 10th. The program is a four-day learning experience facilitated by junior and senior students and Academy staff. WINDOW lays the foundation for inquiry and responsibility. The program is designed to help transition and familiarize students with the academic expectations of the Academy.
PMSA will also host an open house for new students and parents on April 21st (6:30 p.m.-8:00 p.m.).
