Is your student interested in the medial field? If so, Proviso Math and Science Academy’s PULSE program may be the ideal outlet for your student to gain exposure and education about the field of medicine.
PULSE is an acronym for Proviso United with Loyola Students for Educational Enrichment. The program was developed at PTHS 209 in partnership with the Stritch School of Medicine. PULSE is designed to provide students with hands-on experiences in the medical field. It matches medical student mentors with PMSA students in a relationship that supports and encourages the exploration of students’ interests in medicine.
The PULSE program teaches Proviso students through a series of workshops, field trips, and discussions. These enrichment activities build upon the knowledge and skills learned in the classroom, and provide an opportunity for career exploration.
All sessions are held at Stritch School of Medicine, located across the street from PMSA on the campus of the Loyola University Medical Center. Transportation to and from the Academy is provided.
Students who wish to participate in this program should complete the application form provided in the link below and return to the PMSA Main Office by Friday, October 10 at 4 p.m.
Students will be chosen for the PULSE program based on available space, academic standing, attendance and disciplinary records.
