Parent Teacher Organization (PTO)

PMSA has a Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) to be a liaison to the school, helping parents, teachers and students.

Goals
We have 3 primary goals:

1)  To listen to the concerns of parents and be a unified voice to school leadership.
2)  To assist the faculty, staff and students in obtaining needed supplies.
3)  To support the students through the various clubs in which they participate.

We encourage all parents to join the PTO.  Statistics have shown that students are more successful if their parents are involved in their school.  The PTO is a fantastic way to get involved and stay informed.

PTO meetings are held at the School the first Thursday of every month at 6:30 p.m. in the Student Cafeteria unless noted.

Students
All students are invited to attend PTO Meetings and provide their valuable input.  Students receive community service credit for working with the PTO.

Donations
Donations can be made to PMSA PTO and are eligible for tax credit. Be sure to also check to see if your company will match funds and increase your efforts to support the school.

Fundraisers
The PTO will be holding fundraisers throughout the year. ALL money collected goes directly to the school.  Current fundraisers include:

Target Red Card – ask to have your Target card signed up with “Take Charge of Education” and designate Proviso Math and Science Academy as your school.

IGive.com – go to http://www.iGive.com/PMSA-PTO and download the button for PMSA to receive $5.  Earn money for the school when you shop online.

Also, look for exciting fundraisers throughout the year.  Feel free to contact a PTO officer for more information.
